Outline the FIVE (5) roles that social workers play in community work. Discuss how
these roles require social workers to be attentive to racial, ethnic, class, gender, and
cultural diversity. Explain how these roles and the social worker’s sensitivity to diversity
influence the community’s dynamics. Illustrate these roles with examples from the
Singapore context.

limited resources go through when working with marginalized communities.

(b) Discuss THREE (3) concepts in structural social work. Examine how these concepts
are relevant to human rights and social justice, and how these can help the social
worker to work through these ethical dilemmas.

(a) Discuss FOUR (4) types of resources that are available to organisations and why
these resources are important. Analyse how the organisation can apply teamwork
skills to these resources in order to advocate for and to ameliorate adverse
environmental conditions for themselves and for their clients.

(b) When planning for a new programme, demonstrate how proposal writing, oral
presentations and budgeting could incorporate any three (3) of the resources.
